Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital offers medical surgical emergency obstetric and critical care services.

In March 2012 the Cotton Family Birth Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital was designated a Baby-Friendly birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center a leading-edge hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning technological advancements and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches.

Scope of work

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection.

Overview

• This is a paid apprenticeship model which is a 16-week program that combines related online education through the ASRT and on the job learning at Corewell Health.
• Completion of this program satisfies the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirements for CT.
• After successful completion of all 12 modules of the program participants will receive 16 CE credits and a document from the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) recognizing their achievement.
• Program includes requirement for a 1-year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position.
