Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit :

Honors Carolina is a four-year academic program geared toward the top 10% of undergraduates at UNC, and is comprised of a remarkable collection of courses, study abroad programs, special events, career development, and other learning opportunities. It is the University’s way of investing in truly exceptional undergraduate students by providing academic and non-academic challenges and opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom. Approximately 2100 students are currently members of Honors Carolina. These students enjoy priority enrollment in more than 200 honors courses each year. These are small classes, taught by award-winning professors who encourage classroom discussion and hands-on research. Outside of the classroom, members of Honors Carolina attend a diverse roster of co-curricular programs designed to help students explore their interests; prepare for life after graduation; and connect with students, faculty, alumni, and leaders around the globe. Position Summary :

This housekeeper position provides cleaning and event set-up services for Graham Memorial. Duties include upkeep of lounge, classrooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas; floor maintenance; trash collection; assisting with furniture and equipment set up for large and small events; occasional special projects such as painting, pressure washing, and leaf blowing.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. NOTE : Some positions may require special licenses or certification.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience :

Ability to follow directions and follow safety guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively with team members. Ability to read and understand room diagrams and multiple planning calendars.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience :

Prior experience in janitorial service.

Special Physical / Mental Requirements :

Must be able to move up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
