Locum - Physician - General Medicine NM

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct interview-based C&P exams and separation health assessments for Veterans
• Perform physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Adhere to established protocols with no prescription or treatment responsibilities
• Complete reports and addendums efficiently within assigned shifts
• Maintain compliance with all licensing and certification requirements

Required Skills:

• Valid medical license in New Mexico or eligible for licensure
• Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
• Strong understanding of compensation and pension examination procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform physical assessments accurately and efficiently

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with VA or government-related medical evaluations
• Familiarity with compensation and pension processes
• Certification or training in disability or veteran-specific assessments
• Bilingual skills to serve diverse Veteran populations

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
• Experience in conducting Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments

Other Requirements:

• Own a private office within a 50-mile radius of designated locations: Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, or Grants, NM
• Ability to commit to ½ or full-day shifts, 2 days/week in Silver City or Deming, 1 day/week in Hobbs, and ½ day/week in Grants
• Must complete quick credentialing and onboarding processes
• Must be local to the areas specified; travel is included in rates
• Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work such as report submission and addendums

Hourly Pay Rate:

• Half-day (4 hours or less): $800 flat rate
• Full day (5 hours or more): $1,600 flat rate
• One-time bonus of $650 upon completing required training and first exams
