Job Title : Assembler Job Description

As an Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. This role involves working in a specific area of production for various housings, control panels, and automation controls. You will need to read basic prints to assemble the parts, utilizing tools such as drills, tweezers, crimpers, and screwdrivers.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun.
  • Perform soldering, joining two or more metal items by melting and flowing a filler metal (solder) into the joint.
  • Maintain inventory of products in workstations.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Rework and / or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electronic assembly and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Soldering skills.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience may be required.
  • Basic reading skills with the ability to follow directions.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required.
  • May be required to pass a ruler test.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is clean, well-lit, and well-organized. It is a smaller, quieter environment with an R&D type feel. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 6 : 30 AM–3 : 00 PM. This is a 4-month contract, on-site, with potential for contract-to-hire.

    This is a Contract position based out of SAINT PAUL, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr.
