Job Description

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently entering information from a variety of sources into the company’s databases and systems. This role primarily focuses on financial and accounting data entry, supporting the integrity of records within our accounting and ERP platforms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, fast, and comfortable working with numbers in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Input large volumes of financial, accounting, and client information into accounting and ERP systems with speed and accuracy.
  • Review source documents for completeness and accuracy before entry.
  • Verify entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering information as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
  • Follow established data entry procedures and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Communicate with internal staff to clarify information when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Ability to type 75 words per minute or faster with a high degree of accuracy (required).
  • Experience entering accounting or financial data into ERP / accounting systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Drake, Odoo, or similar) a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel especially).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently as well as in a team environment.
