The NC State Veterinary Hospital (VH), established in 1983, is one of the highest rated veterinary academic medical centers in the country, serving communities throughout North Carolina as well as many other states. The hospital staffs over twenty clinical services with board certified specialists that are nationally and even internationally renowned, ensuring the VH is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of multiple specialists utilizing a team approach to patient health care. Each year, nearly 35,000 patients are treated in the VH. The VH provides compassionate care, state of the art specialty health care, expert clinical instruction for 4th year veterinary students from College of Veterinary Medicine, and ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine.

Essential Job Duties
This position plays a key role in the Diagnostic Imaging Department by supporting advanced imaging services for small, large, and exotic patients across the hospital. The role provides hands-on veterinary care, technical expertise, and coordination for patients requiring specialized diagnostic procedures while contributing to a dynamic teaching environment. Team members in this role thrive in a fast-paced setting, demonstrate strong communication and time-management skills, and collaborate effectively with clinicians, students, and specialty services to ensure exceptional patient care.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience / Education
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in canine / feline veterinary settings, with proficiency in handling sick animals, hazardous materials, anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and maintaining safety standards.
Strong ability to communicate effectively, maintain professionalism in emotionally charged situations, and deliver high-quality customer service.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and willing to work beyond scheduled hours when needed.
Effective team player who contributes to problem-solving and advancement, while also able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and seek assistance when appropriate.
Skilled in working with computers / electronics and motivated to teach and mentor 4th-year veterinary students.
