Director of Accounting

Job Description

Our firm has partnered with a not-for-profit healthcare system in the South to recruit a Director of Accounting. This Director will provide both strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient financial operations across hospitals, clinics, and system entities. This role oversees payroll, accounts payable, general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and reimbursement.

Reporting to a Vice President, the Director works closely with leadership across departments to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and healthcare regulations. The role is also responsible for developing accounting policies and procedures, coordinating the budget process, and collaborating with auditors. Direct reports include an Accounting Manager and a Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA required
• Healthcare (preferred) and / or Non-profit experience
