Chief Information Officer

WORK OBJECTIVE

Provides overall strategic direction, vision, coordination, planning, organization, and control for the Department of Innovation Technology for the City of Hallandale Beach. Position is responsible and accountable for the citywide information technology systems and infrastructure. Directs the administration for functional areas including, but not limited to, networks, servers, voice, and data communication systems; enterprise resource planning and general business applications and systems; geographical information systems; and electronic and digital resources security. Ensures the most effective and efficient allocation of human and fiscal resources for the City. Position is primarily focused on directing, coaching, developing, and evaluating other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop and implement policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the city’s business strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. Ten (10) or more years’ progressively responsible experience in the implementation, maintenance and administration of information technologies and automated business systems and solutions, three (3) years of which should be in a management or supervisory capacity, preferably in a governmental or similar institutional environment; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and / or experience.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field preferred.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Formal industry certification(s) preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
