Position Summary
As a
nationally accredited program with a strong educational component in The
University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the Medical
Investigator (OMI) investigates any death occurring across the state of New
Mexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is found
dead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program
within the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in
these cases, and provides formal death certification.
OMI is currently looking
for a Radiologic Specialty Tech to join our team. The chosen candidate will be
assisting pathologists with completion of CT scans of decedents for the day's
docket. We are looking for applicants with a strong work ethic and who are able
to follow complex instruction. Candidates must be able to work in a lab setting
and follow protocols for sanitation, infection control, and safety. The
position also requires data entry and a high degree of attention to detail. Our
candidate will be able to deal with graphic sights and intense smell.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree; at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include directly related certification or practicum training. Certification / Licensure : Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
