JOB SUMMARY
As a General Construction Technician, you will be expected to follow instructions, prioritize safety, and perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to drywall installation, demolition work, and framing, all within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a dependable team player who is consistently punctual and open to cross-training across multiple areas of construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drywall Installation & Repair : Measure, cut, and install drywall in accordance with project specifications.
Metal Stud Framing : Assist with layout and installation of framing systems
Demolition Work :
- Dismantle structures and components using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
- Remove and clear debris from the job site to prepare for new construction
- Follow demolition project plans and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- General Construction Support : Assist with material handling, cleanup, and other site duties as needed.
Communication :
Follow instructions accurately and efficientlyCommunicate clearly with team members and Superintendent.Safety :
Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerformance / Operations :
Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periodsOperate and maintain construction tools and equipment safely and properlyWork flexibly across multiple construction functions and adapt to daily job changesAttendance : Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and consistency in attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent1+ year of experience in construction or demolition preferredFamiliarity with power tools and basic construction equipment preferredOSHA-10 Certificate is a plusAbility to follow direction and work within a teamADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands : Role requires frequent standing, walking (including on uneven surfaces), and climbing ladders. The employee must regularly lift or move 50+ pounds. Some tasks may require sitting, using hand or power tools, or occasional crawling.
