Carpenter

Carpentry Position

Necessary carpentry duties include building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings, and trims made of wood. Requires knowledge of the trade.

Primary job functions include :

• Planning and laying out of projects.
• Working from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
• Use of a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
• Selection of necessary materials for the job.
• Training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Maintaining the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
• Assisting others as part of the maintenance team as required and performing other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
• Improving and maintaining the overall interior appearance by painting and redecorating walls, woodwork, and fixtures. Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
