Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Graduate Engineer to join our team in our Charlotte, NC office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design of building systems, structural elements and connections under the supervision of a professional engineer by performing engineering calculations/analyse
• Design structures of a variety of materials including steel, concrete, wood and masonry.
• Analyze existing structures for new uses and design repairs/reinforcement where required for existing conditions.
• Coordinate with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical and civil regarding the projects design.
• Provide construction administration assistance in responses to
• Perform site visits, inspections and review of shop drawings
• Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings

Required Skills

• Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles
• Ability to apply structural engineering principles to design of various elements
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, a must

Required Experience

• EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET accredited college

Preferred Experience

• Master’s degree in structural engineering
