Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator with a focus on concrete estimating. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating for commercial construction and multifamily projects, particularly in the realm of concrete structures. This role is based in or near Woodland Hills, California, and requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Estimation :

  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $15M to $150M, with a specialized focus on concrete elements such as foundations, slabs, and structural components.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to accurately determine project costs.
  • Stay informed about current market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.

Collaboration :

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop value engineering options and cost-effective solutions.

    • Bid Preparation :

  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals for projects of varying scales, ensuring all relevant details are included and accurate.
  • Participate in bid reviews and presentations to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of the proposed construction costs.

    • Vendor and Subcontractor Management :

  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to foster effective communication and negotiation.

    • Cost Tracking and Analysis :

  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process for projects within the $15M-$150M range, providing regular updates and variance analysis.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of cost databases for future reference.

    • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator with a focus on concrete estimating.
  • Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
