Position Summary: The Olympic Club in San Francisco, the oldest private athletic club in the nation, is seeking talented and dedicated teachers of basketball to coach in our OC Elite AAU program. The OC Elite program is widely recognized as the premier teaching AAU program in the Bay Area. Those interested in applying should have a strong focus on teaching skill development and improving players. Practices are held from 4:00-6:00pm twice a week and games and tournaments are played on weekends. OC Elite currently features 13 level 1 AAU teams (boys and girls), many of which are amongst the best teams in the Bay Area. Both Head and Asst. Coaching positions are available to strong candidates.
This position is seasonal, part-time, non-exempt and reports to the Basketball Director of The Olympic Club.
Essential functions and responsibilities: - Coaching all weekly team practices
- Attending all home and away games, weekend travel will be necessary
- Must be able to follow programs curriculum guidelines for teaching fundamentals
Minimum Requirements: - Must have a great enthusiasm for the game and for working with young players
- Must have an excellent ability/or potential ability to teach basketball skills to individuals and teams
- Proficient knowledge of basketball rules and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Be able to communicate effectively with children, young adults, and other coaches
- Be a positive role model
- Fluent oral English communication skills
- Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs.
