Network Engineer Opportunity In Omaha, Nebraska
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this long-term contract role, you will take on a key position in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This includes handling local and wide area networks, VoIP systems, and Internet connectivity, ensuring optimal performance and availability for all users. The ideal candidate will bring advanced networking expertise to drive effective solutions and lead technical initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain network systems, including LAN, WAN, VoIP, and Internet infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance to ensure consistent availability and implement necessary maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing leadership and guidance to team members.
- Develop and implement network policies and procedures, including asset management and documentation.
- Evaluate, procure, and deploy hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for network systems.
- Collaborate with the security team to identify vulnerabilities and implement protective measures.
- Lead capacity planning and analyze network traffic to optimize system performance.
- Manage backups of data and voice network systems, supporting disaster recovery planning.
- Communicate with stakeholders to address network requirements and resolve issues.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in working with Juniper routing, switching, and wireless systems.
- Expertise in Palo Alto firewalls and Aruba wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and service management systems.
- Ability to lead technical projects and adapt plans based on priorities and resource availability.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication abilities.
