Process Engineering Manager

Job Summary : Responsible for designing and developing processes and activities to drive improvement. Creates specifications, establishes manufacturing control plans, and develops processes. Responsible for improving the molding processes through continuous improvement by training and coaching the molding team. Must also manage and train plastics staff to ensure efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. Maintains a safe productive work environment.

Essential Functions :

• Functional knowledge of injection molding machines
• Functional knowledge of blow molding machines
• Maintains a positive work environment conducive to regular factory experience for all workers assigned to the department.
• Establishes and maintains high standards for quality for all items produced in the department.
• Develop scientifically based processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.
• Operate auxiliary equipment to support molding operation such as mold temperature control units, grinders, robots, and pickers.
• Lead and / or participate on teams to help achieve operational goals
• Drive molding process improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal processing parameters.
• Support process improvement, reduction of downtime, cost reduction, and corrective action
• Responsible for care and maintenance of all equipment in the department.
• Assist in the set-up, repair, and troubleshooting of molding equipment.
• Working knowledge of statistical data
• Familiar with GMP and ISO guidelines
