The selection process tentatively includes the following :
Step 1 : Application screening (pass / fail) Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Applications will be evaluated and ranked according to criteria that most closely meets the needs of the department, so it is essential that applicants provide as much detail as possible and answer all parts of the application, including work experience and the supplemental questionnaire. If there is a high number of qualified applicants, a comparative screening will be conducted to determine which of the applicants will be selected for invitation to the performance examination and qualification appraisal interview.
Upon qualifying, applicants will be notified by email with further instructions. Applicants must pass the application screening to advance to the next step, the qualification appraisal interview.
Step 2 : Training & Experience Evaluation : (weighted 100%) A Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) is a structured evaluation of the job application materials submitted by a candidate, including the written responses to the supplemental questionnaire. The T&E is NOT a determination of whether the candidate meets the stated requirements; rather, the T&E is one method for determining who are the better qualified among those who have shown that they meet the stated requirements. In a T&E, applications are scored and rank ordered according to criteria that most closely meet the business needs of the department.
All applicants must achieve a passing score in each part of the examination process in order to be placed on the eligibility list.
