They should be adept at leading a diverse faculty and staff, promoting a culture of inclusion and belonging, and engaging in student success initiatives. Additional qualifications include a collaborative leadership style, experience in industry involvement, and a strong network with industry partners. The Chair will also be responsible for budget oversight, faculty and staff development, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies. The role requires a leader who can effectively manage resources, mentor early-career faculty, and lead the department toward enhanced sponsored research.
