Position Summary

The Workforce Navigator provides one-on-one and group support to women engaging in workforce readiness, job placement, and career development services at our Women's Center. This role offers trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and gender-responsive care to support women in navigating barriers to employment, including those related to experiences of domestic violence, economic insecurity, discrimination, and other intersectional challenges.

We are seeking a dependable and mature individual who can model workplace professionalism and support participants in building both technical and soft skills necessary to thrive in work environments.

As part of this role, you must have the ability to work at least two weekend days per month. This is a 32 hour / week , non-exempt position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Conduct client intake and assessment to identify employment goals, skills, and barriers.
  • Provide individualized coaching and support in résumé building, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career planning.
  • Support clients in developing soft skills such as communication, punctuality, reliability, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate small group workshops or information sessions on workforce readiness topics.
  • Connect clients with job opportunities, training programs, internships, and education pathways.
  • Coordinate with internal case managers and external partners (e.g., employers, training providers, workforce agencies) to support client employment goals.
  • Track client progress, maintain confidential records, and document services in compliance with program requirements.
  • Address barriers such as childcare, transportation, or documentation needs by linking clients to wraparound resources.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and relevant trainings.
  • Create and develop a network of employers, which includes building visibility and being a resource to employers interested in hiring Glide participants.
  • Coordinate a once-a-year job fair for participants.
  • Stay up to date with workforce news and changes to provide the most up-to-date support to participants.
  • Oversee and actively participate in partnerships with community-based organizations, workforce agencies, and referral partners

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in workforce development, career counseling, social services, case management, or a related field.
  • You must have the ability to work at least two weekend days per month.
  • Should have experience with conducting and / or leading group workshops.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with participants, staff, community and industry partners is required.
  • The ideal candidate brings strong professional judgment, emotional intelligence, and a client-centered mindset.
  • Previous experience supporting clients with developing both technical job skills and workplace soft skills (e.g. professionalism, communication, punctuality).
  • Experience working with women impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, poverty, or systemic barriers preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural humility, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time well, and meet documentation or reporting deadlines consistently.
  • Work Environment :

  • GLIDE's buildings are located in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
  • GLIDE maintains an "open door" policy to the community and its clients, who frequently enter and leave the building.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work on a computer and see details of objects at close range.
  • Ability to hear within normal range, and communicate effectively (in person, telephone or Zoom).
  • Finger dexterity and the ability to use all standard office equipment.
  • Sit or stand comfortably, and have the ability to navigate throughout office spaces (via elevator or stairs).
  • $26.50 - $28.50 an hour

    This is a 32-hour / week , non-exempt position. This role is covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
