We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial and administrative operations of a nonprofit organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role involves managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic guidance to support organizational goals. Responsibilities :
- Direct and manage all aspects of the organization's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Prepare financial reports and statements to provide insights into the organization's performance and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop budgets and forecast future financial needs.
- Oversee document control processes, ensuring the accurate organization and storage of financial records.
- Supervise document scanning activities to maintain digital records and enhance accessibility.
- Ensure the compilation and organization of essential documents for audits, reports, and compliance purposes.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and mentor the finance team to enhance their skills and support growth in accuracy and attention to detail.
- Partner with external auditors and stakeholders to facilitate audits and ensure transparency in financial reporting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance leadership roles, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in managing document control systems and processes.
- Hands-on experience with document scanning and digital record management.
- Strong ability to compile and organize financial documents for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Expertise in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of preparing accurate and insightful financial reports.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
