Job Type : Full-Time

Target Salary Range

: $100,000 - $120,000.
This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and / or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary

Position Overview :

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for analyzing complex business and system requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications, and leading validation and testing activities for large-scale enterprise systems. This role supports mission-critical healthcare, government, and financial applications, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and high-quality delivery across Agile and SDLC environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Analyze and document business, functional, and technical requirements for enterprise systems

Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications using UML and workflow models

Conduct gap and impact analysis for system enhancements and regulatory changes

Lead validation efforts for batch and online systems, including system, integration, regression, and UAT

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices

Manage defects and test execution using Quality Center / Test Director

Analyze and resolve mainframe batch issues, including JCL abends and performance problems

Execute and monitor batch jobs using CONTROL-M in z / OS environments

Validate data integrity across DB2, Oracle, Teradata, and SQL Server databases

Write and execute complex SQL queries for data and ETL validation

Support HIPAA-compliant healthcare systems, including Medicaid and Medicare applications

Validate EDI / X12 transactions (837, 835, 276, 277, 270, 271)

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using QTP / UFT

Collaborate with business, development, testing, and DBA teams to ensure successful releases

Document test results, defects, and validation artifacts; prepare status and quality reports

Qualifications : Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Experience

15+ years of experience in Business / System Analysis, Validation, Testing, and QA

Strong experience with SDLC, RUP, and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies

Proven experience supporting healthcare, government, or large enterprise systems

Technical Skills

Mainframe : JCL, TSO, ISPF, MVS, z / OS, CONTROL-M

Databases : DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server

Testing Tools : Quality Center / Test Director, QTP / UFT

Modeling & Requirements : UML, Rational RequisitePro, MS Visio

Languages : COBOL, PL / SQL, SQL, VBScript

Domain Knowledge

Healthcare claims processing and Medicaid / Medicare systems

HIPAA compliance and EDI X12 transactions

Data warehousing and ETL validation

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across team
