Team Overview :

As the Cyber Security Team Leader for Exposure Management : Vulnerability Solutioning and Remediation, you are a key member of the Information Security Leadership Team. You will work closely with other leaders to make key decisions in protecting the firm from advanced cyber-attacks. The Vulnerability Solutioning and Remediation Leader will be responsible for managing and executing on defined strategic initiatives in support and alignment of the overall security strategy. This will include communicating clear goals, objectives, and key results to a team of individual contributors and helping them achieve success in meeting defined and measurable objectives. The Vulnerability Solutioning and Remediation Leader is also responsible for identifying, escalating, and remediating cyber risks; working with the Department Leader to suggest improvements to processes and procedures and execute as agreed upon; managing new and emerging threats; providing support to audits, regulatory exams, and compliance requests; and creating a supportive and productive environment for Associates.

What You'll Do :

  • Execute on defined initiatives that align to the overall security strategy with the focus of protecting the Firm from advanced and sophisticated cyber attacks.
  • Accountable for a system of detailed exposure reports and partner with stakeholders to ensure that technology owners are aware of any vulnerabilities / findings in their domain and work with them to track and manage remediation within the defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Accountable for the communication of reporting to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and work together with Department Leaders to set and execute on strategies to remediate, manage, and escalate risks according to Firm policy.
  • Work in partnership with other Team Leaders and Department Leaders to translate the overall security strategy into team-level initiatives that are clearly defined and measured through comprehensive Objectives and Key Results that Associates are measured against.
  • Identify, hire, and retain top talent by providing leadership, development, and mentoring to Individual Contributors through examples and timely feedback.
  • Track against a set of KPIs and KRIs that measure the effectiveness of the program and how it operates. Ensure risks are identified and operational processes are adjusted accordingly based on these metrics.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across key departments, business areas, and vendors.
  • Accountable for understanding and making prudent decisions related to financials and budgetary considerations for all resources and vendor engagements associated with the organization.
  • Represent the Firm as a leader across the financial service's information security community through industry forums, working groups, and conference presentations.

Hiring Minimum : $117000

Hiring Maximum : $199300

Skills / Requirements

What Experience You'll Need :

  • 5+ years relevant cyber security experience in progressive roles
  • 7+ years experience including prior leadership experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Experience in leading a team of individual contributors is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstratable leadership skills in three of the following areas : tracking execution of strategic initiatives against clearly defined metrics, basic budget management, resource management, vendor relationship management, talent development and coaching, and strong employee engagement.
  • Knowledge of the cyber security landscape including how threat actors operate, core security technologies and functions, and cyber risk / control / maturity frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the role's specific security sub-domain(s) including the associated technology stack, industry best practices, related frameworks, and governance expectations.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively speak about complex technical or security topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Functional understanding of core enterprise technology platforms.
  • Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

    Current INTERNAL home-based associates : While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
