Accountant Opportunity In Kansas City

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. This contract to potential long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic organization while contributing to key financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation skills and experience in financial preparation and general ledger management.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for multiple entities across various states.
  • Prepare and finalize monthly financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Record and review journal entries to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Analyze and manage general ledger accounts to maintain financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless financial reporting processes.
  • Utilize accounting software to manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Leverage experience in real estate or retail industries to enhance accounting practices.
  • Work on financial preparation tasks, ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
  • Support system transitions and integrations as needed within the accounting framework.
  • Conduct detailed reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience in accounting functions, including AP and AR management.
  • Strong expertise in balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other accounting software platforms.
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and manage journal entries.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger operations and financial reporting.
  • Background in real estate or retail accounting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment.
