Water Resource Manager
The Water Resource Manager is responsible for the efficient management of all water resources to optimize power generation and uphold environmental stewardship. This role manages lake levels in accordance with FERC licenses and local and state stakeholder requirements, develops both daily and long-term generation schedules, and coordinates with Operations, Project Management, and Commercial teams to maximize asset performance. The Water Resource Manager also collaborates closely with Regulatory and Compliance teams to ensure all operations remain fully within license limits.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and oversee water resource management plans, policies, and programs.
- Monitor and analyze water supply and demand trends, hydrological data, watershed conditions, and lake / pondlevels.
- Coordinate with local, regional, and federal agencies on water resource issues, permitting, and compliance.
- Coordinate water management with operations to maximize generation based on available flows, match production to pricing peaks, andtake advantage of capacity events
- Oversee water quality assessments, conservation initiatives, and drought management strategies.
- Manage water infrastructure projects, including storage, distribution, and treatment systems.
- Prepare technical reports, budgets, and regulatory documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for flood control, drought, and climate change impacts.
- Supervise and support technical staff, consultants, and contractors.
- Engage with stakeholders, including community groups, agricultural users, and industries, to promote sustainable water use.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water rights laws.
- This position requires up to 25% travel.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelors degree in water resources management, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources,relevantMilitaryor a related field (Mastersdegree preferred), andExperience : 5+years ofprogressive experiencein water resource planning, management, or engineering.PreferredCertifications : Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent credential preferred; certification in water management or environmental compliance may berequired.Required Skills and Related Experience :
Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydrogeology, and water systems management.Experiencewith GIS, hydrologic modeling, and water data management tools.Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.Ability to interpret and apply environmental regulations and policies.Our People Are the Foundation of Our Mission
