Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and specialized perinatal certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit

Care provided to obstetric and perinatal patient populations with cases ranging from routine to complex

Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week

Level 1 trauma center experience required

Assignment is for a 13-week contract

Performs comprehensive nursing care including assessment, IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring of mother and fetus

Provides patient and family education regarding care plans and hospital procedures

Collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members during labor, delivery, and recovery

Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate

Adheres to a 50-mile radius rule; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

Holiday coverage may be required as needed

Requirements

Active OK or compact RN license required

Minimum of one year recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS (both AHA only), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP Advance Provider or NRP Instructor

Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate nursing care in a high acuity environment

Strong communication and documentation skills
