Senior Tax Specialist - Bilingual Japanese

We are seeking a Senior Tax Specialist fluent in Japanese to join our well-established and highly profitable CPA firm. This role involves delivering comprehensive international tax services, focusing specifically on our Japanese clients, and offers the flexibility of a fully remote setup. You will engage in preparing complex tax returns and work directly under the guidance of seasoned professionals, providing ample opportunities for career growth and professional development.

Salary : DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Preparation of Federal and multi-state tax returns for various entities including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individual clients.
  • Resolve complex accounting and tax-related issues, ensuring compliance and optimization.
  • Perform both basic and complex tax research to support client needs and internal knowledge building.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their tax and accounting needs are effectively met.
  • Identify tax planning and consulting opportunities to add value to client engagements.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Tax, or Business Administration.
  • At least 2 years of tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.
  • Current CPA license or in the process of obtaining the CPA license.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience specifically in international taxation, with deep knowledge of tax laws applicable to Japanese business operations.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced competency in using tax software and Microsoft Excel.

    • Skills :

  • Fluency in Japanese and English, both in writing and speaking.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax information in simple terms.
  • Self-directed with an entrepreneurial work ethic, ready to take initiative in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple client portfolios effectively.
