Overview
The Program Associate will provide high-level administrative and project coordination support for Touro University's participation in the New York State Path Forward (NYPF) initiative, a multi-year effort to integrate culturally responsive, evidence-based literacy instruction grounded in the Science of Reading across teacher preparation programs. Reporting to the Project Lead, this part-time role supports scheduling, communications, document management, data collection, meeting support, and coordination with Deans for Impact (DFI) and other partners.
Responsibilities
Administrative & Logistical Support
Coordinate project calendars, meeting schedules, and invitations for virtual and in-person sessions
Record, draft, and distribute meeting minutes
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, handouts, and presentations
Support travel logistics for on-site visits
Organize and maintain project files (shared drives, folders, archives)
Communication & Liaison
Serve as a point of contact for internal Path Forward communications
Coordinate with DFI, Literacy Academy Collective, The Reading League, and participating faculty
Draft and send stakeholder communications (emails, announcements, RSVP forms, calendar invites)
Data Collection & Reporting
Assist with collecting and organizing faculty data (eg, Knowledge Snapshot participation, attendance, deliverables)
Track project progress and key milestones
Prepare brief summaries / reports for the Project Lead and funders as needed
Faculty Support
Serve as a friendly first point of contact for participating faculty regarding Path Forward logistics
Coordinate 1 : 1 and small-group coaching sessions with DFI; manage sign-ups and reminders
Assist faculty with RSVPs, calendar invites, Zoom links, and access to materials
Track faculty participation (Knowledge Snapshot completion, session attendance, deliverables)
Collect and organize syllabi, assignments, and templates related to course redesign (administrative handling only)
Share resources, deadlines, and step-by-step guides; provide light tech support for Google / Zoom / Drive access
Maintain a simple FAQ / updates log so faculty have consistent guidance
Other Duties as Assigned
Provide logistical and clerical support for trainings and professional learning sessions
Assist with documentation and compliance reporting
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of administrative experience required
Experience in higher education or grant-funded projects preferred.
Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
High attention to detail and professionalism.Preferred
Experience in higher education, teacher preparation, or literacy initiatives.
Familiarity with project coordination, data tracking, and grant documentation.
Knowledge of the Science of Reading (SoR) is a plus.
Working Conditions
Part-time : up to 18 hours per week, with some schedule flexibility aligned to meeting times and project milestones.
Grant-funded position; compensation commensurate with experience and aligned to available grant funds.

USD $30.00 / Hr.
Minimum Salary
USD $24.00 / Hr.
