Food Industry- EHS Manager

Location: Visalia, CA- some travel to other plants

Salary Range: $100,000- $128,000 per year, offering excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with company environmental, safety, and health standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop and implement compliance plans for air and water permits.
• Manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in collaboration with site managers and external consultants.
• Establish and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Uphold ethical standards for legal compliance and prioritize employee safety.
• Oversee plant safety, health, and loss prevention programs, including policy development and procedure implementation.
• Conduct inspections to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training, counseling, and guidance on safety matters.
• Conduct new employee EHS orientations and coordinate monthly training programs.
• Schedule and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings.
• Investigate injuries, environmental releases, and near misses, reporting findings to plant management and corporate EHS.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
• Participate in corporate EHS initiatives, audits, and training programs.
• Lead safety activities, including observations, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Foster relationships with external regulators.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health, and Occupational Safety or related field.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing with environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer software applications.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
