Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Providence, RI, is seeking a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher for a contract position. This role involves providing specialized educational support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive tailored instruction to meet their unique learning needs.

Responsibilities include :

• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Adapting curriculum materials using assistive technology and other resources
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
• Conducting assessments and monitoring student progress related to visual impairment services
• Providing direct instruction in orientation and mobility, braille, and other specialized skills as needed
