Title - Registered Nurse (Juvenile Correctional Setting)

Facility - Taberg Residential Ctr. for girls

Location -  10011 Taberg-Florence Rd, Taberg, NY 13471, United States

Shift -  6am-2pm, or 6am- 4pm, 40 hours per week.

Note - Every other Saturday / Sunday pass days. Other pass days per facility need.

Contract duration - 52 weeks (1 year)

Summary of need :

To provide nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with the established systematic problem-solving approach for the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, which are compliant with the regulatory standards in a juvenile correctional setting.

Facility Overview :

Taberg Residential Center for Girls is located in the central region of New York State, northwest of the City of Rome. The Youth served at Taberg are female juvenile offenders. Depending upon the sentence, youth may remain in OCFS custody until the age of 21. Taberg is accredited by the American Correctional Association and has a current population of approximately 13 youth.

Job duties :

Job duties include, but may not be limited to : maintaining general medical inventory (including controlled substances); conducting medication administration; reviewing the overall health conditions of youth (i.e. preparing, reviewing and evaluating nursing intervention plans); ensuring that interventions are consistent with comprehensive treatment plans; participating in staff trainings; preparing required clinical and administrative reports; maintain infection control standards; and, serve as a member of the facility’s medical treatment team. Additional duties to be discussed in detail during the interview.

Qualifications : Licensed / and registered to practice nursing in New York State.

Minimum - 6 months experience preferred as a RN & must have active NY Registered nurse license. \n\n
