Job Summary: The Activities Coordinator is instrumental in supporting sustained recovery by facilitating engaging activities and events for clients. This individual serves as a consistent point of connection, support, and engagement, helping maintain strong relationships within the recovery community and promoting ongoing sobriety through structured programming, communication, outreach, and meaningful shared experiences. In addition, the Activities Coordinator works individually with clients to help identify and overcome personal barriers they may be facing, providing guidance, encouragement, and support to enhance their recovery journey.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate meetings with clients and alumni to discuss and implement volunteer opportunities.
- Assist in the development of innovative and interactive volunteer information and training programs, including a seamless and effective referral system for alumni and family ambassadors
- Organize and coordinate regular alumni events such as workshops, support groups, and community-building activities.
- Conduct well-being check-ins via calls and texts with discharged alumni within 72 hours of discharge.
- Maintain accurate records of alumni contact information, event participation, and progress in recovery programs.
- Make follow-up calls to former clients at 30, 60, and 90 days post-treatment to ensure continued engagement..
- Facilitate meaningful connections between alumni and current clients, as well as among alumni themselves.
- Establish and grow the Alumni Ambassador Program, encouraging clients to share recovery stories, speak at local events, and promote awareness, decrease stigma, and inspire hope.
- Identify opportunities to enhance alumni services and develop new initiatives based on alumni and stakeholder feedback.
- Develop and distribute content for a monthly alumni email newsletter and other marketing initiatives to keep alumni informed and engaged.
- Collaborate with the Team Recovery Foundation team to plan and execute impactful alumni and community events.
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required.
License Requirements:
- CDCA & QMHS III required.
- BLS/CPR Certification, will train upon hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, be 21 years or older, and be deemed insurable through Team Recovery's insurance carrier.
Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in addiction treatment, recovery support, outreach, or community engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills fostering connecting with others, fostering growth, and supporting the success of individuals and teams.
- Proven strength in verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Skilled in working effectively within a team environment, collaborating with diverse groups including providers, staff, alumni, and families
- Capable of working autonomously while managing multiple responsibilities
- Deep understanding of and adherence to confidentiality requirements, maintaining compliance with Patient Rights and HIPAA when interacting with alumni, families, and other stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of mental health and addiction treatment and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of operational planning, budgeting, resource management, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools to drive company improvement plans.
