Voyager Trucking Corporation is a leading waste-hauling company specializing in the transportation and brokerage of municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, biosolids, mulch, and recyclables. We transport from transfer stations and manufacturing facilities to landfills and incinerators across the Northeast Corridor.
We are seeking a skilled
- Mobile Trailer Mechanic
- to join our growing team. This role is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing trailers at customer locations and job sites. The ideal candidate will have proven mechanical and welding experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while upholding safety and quality standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Travel between Chafee and Buffalo to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on trailers with our service vehicle.
- Inspect trailers, run diagnostic tests, and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum reliability.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs (MIG / TIG required; aluminum welding experience mandatory).
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, disc brakes, and walking floors / tipper trailers (preferred but not required).
- Operate hand, power, and shop tools to complete high-quality repairs.
- Apply lubricants, replace parts, and ensure equipment is fully operational.
- Keep accurate logs of work performed, materials used, and issues identified.
- Provide recommendations on preventive maintenance and proper trailer use.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including company vehicle and tools.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a trailer mechanic (2+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and suspension systems.
- MUST have experience with aluminum welding (MIG / TIG).
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment (calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record. xklufbp

- Monday – Friday : 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
- Saturday (as needed) : 9 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM
