Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for :

• Analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates
• Collaborating with various parties (architects, subs, etc.) to gather necessary information
• Preparing and submitting comprehensive, competitive bids and proposals
• Evaluating and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Conducting value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and cost factors
• Assisting in project cost control and budget management

The Successful Applicant

The right candidate has the following qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of commercial estimating experience
• Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry (preferably design / build)
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools : On Screen Take-off, Bluebeam, Procore, MS
• Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities creating construction schedules
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
