Tax Preparer - Florissant, MO (Temp-to-Hire)

Pay : $21.00-$23.00 / hour (DOE)

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 10 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM (25-40 hours / week)

Location : Florissant, MO

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Tax Preparer for the upcoming tax season. This is a fully in-person role with the potential to transition into a permanent position. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience preparing tax returns, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work directly with clients during peak tax periods. Candidates seeking tax preparation or seasonal tax roles in Florissant are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely federal and state individual tax returns
  • Review and organize tax documents including W-2s, 1099s, deductions, and income statements
  • Use Microsoft Office, Cloud Work, and Cross Link or similar tax preparation software
  • Ensure complete and compliant filings following IRS guidelines
  • Assist clients by answering basic tax-related questions and providing a professional preparation experience

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of professional tax preparation experience
  • Strong understanding of IRS regulations, tax credits, deductions, and filing requirements
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and ability to navigate multiple systems
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload during peak season
