Automation and Controls Specialist / Engineer
Location : Covington, GA (Headquarters)

Our client is seeking a highly hands-on Automation and Controls Specialist / Engineer to support the design, programming, and commissioning of advanced automation systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning projects end-to-end—from electrical design to PLC programming and field support.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming
- Develop and implement PLC programs from scratch for a variety of equipment and control systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Carel , or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support via phone and email
- Travel to customer sites for installation support, diagnostics, and commissioning as required.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on PLC programming experience.
Component Selection
Specify and select all electrical and automation components, including :motors, circuit breakers, relays, VFDs, controllers , and related hardware.Create and manage Job Parts Control Sheets (JPCS) in Excel for procurement.Strong proficiency in Excel is highly preferred.Electrical Design
Design electrical schematics for custom HVAC and automation equipment.Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience required.Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical (2D / 3D), or EPLAN is preferred.Why Join?
