As the Regional Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) , you will be instrumental in transforming the lives of students across various Spectrum School locations by delivering individualized clinical and educational interventions tailored to each student’s specific needs. Your expertise will guide and mentor the team through hands-on training and professional development, while continuously assessing and enhancing their performance. As the principal advocate for quality assurance, you will ensure that our programs adhere to applicable laws and regulations and reflect best practices, fostering an environment where students can thrive and achieve lasting success.
This position operates under the direction of the Regional VP of Operations and onsite Program Directors to improve academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for students by utilizing evidence-based interventions and collaborating with the educational and operational staff across campuses in the area.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Providing ongoing training and direction to teachers and educational staff in creating effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Assessing and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of academic instruction and behavioral support services to ensure exceptional outcomes for our students.
- Assisting Spectrum staff by modeling and reinforcing instructional best practices to foster student growth aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Implementing evidence-based interventions using proven behavioral and educational strategies to promote positive outcomes in various areas of student development.
- Offering crisis intervention and support for students displaying aggressive or self-injurious behaviors while devising strategies aimed at minimizing the need for one-on-one staffing.
- Collaborating with onsite educational teams to collect and analyze data on student behavior, track student progress, and ensure responsive interventions aligned with goals.
- Conducting regular quality assessments at campuses in your region, making recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
- Helping develop onsite teams in your area by providing training on behavioral assessments, interventions, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis management, and other relevant topics.
- Guiding and supervising staff members in the assigned region who are pursuing BACB certification (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA), as agreed with the Program Director or VP of Behavior Services.
- Assisting in drafting and executing improvement plans for campuses to boost student performance and staff efficiency.
- Participating in collaborative onsite and regional team meetings to address behavioral needs and contribute to comprehensive support strategies.
- Ensuring all campuses adhere to Department of Education regulations and internal standards for educational and behavioral services within the assigned area.
- Maintaining accurate records of assessments, interventions, progress, and compliance activities.
- Providing operational support to schools in the assigned area, focusing on academic success, behavioral guidance, and staff development.
- Undertaking additional duties or special projects as needed to support organizational goals and promote student success.
Qualifications Required :
Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy, special education, or a closely related field.Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) certification.Preferred : Licensed or in the process of acquiring an education specialist or special education instructional credential.Valid California state driver's license.Ability to maintain certification in company-approved crisis management training.Thorough understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA), including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), data-driven decision making, FBAs, and BIPs.Experience and / or knowledge of special education services, teaching strategies, classroom management, personalized instruction, and working with students with diverse needs.Skilled at working with individuals with severe learning, emotional, or behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, or related disabilities.Experience in crisis management systems and intervention techniques.Knowledgeable about developing and implementing intervention plans for students with diverse requirements.Adept at motivating and engaging students in meaningful conversations to support progress toward their goals.Ability to respond effectively in crises and make independent decisions.Excellent communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and standard office equipment.Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education , the leading provider of alternative and special education programs for children and young adults in the nation.
