Title : EH&S Engineer

Location : Milpitas, CA (San Jose area)

Compensation : $105,000–$110,000k / yr

Overview

Responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting Environmental Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with site leadership and operations to ensure regulatory compliance, prevent workplace injuries, and drive a strong, safety-first culture. The position is primarily safety-focused, with limited environmental impact.

Accountabilities

Develop, implement, and monitor site EH&S programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations

Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership on equipment safety, machine guarding, fire prevention, and risk mitigation

Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; identify gaps and drive corrective actions

Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies to reduce recurrence

Deliver and coordinate safety training, including LOTO, JSA, risk assessments, and emergency response

Serve as a site resource on ergonomics, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, and chemical safety

Maintain OSHA logs, workers’ compensation administration, and return-to-work programs

Compile and submit safety reports and metrics to site leadership

Interface with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed

Support safety culture transformation and standardization initiatives across the site

Requirements

Manufacturing EH&S experience required

3-5+ years of EH&S experience, depending on level

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, or equivalent experience (degree not required)

Strong knowledge of OSHA and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting

Hands-on, plant-floor oriented approach to safety

Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills

Ability to lead change in a fast-paced, evolving environment
