Position Summary
The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LMHC, LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, or LADAC) provides clinical support to residents in a transitional living environment through assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff. This role focuses on promoting long-term recovery, emotional stability, and personal growth within a structured, substance-free living environment. The clinician ensures all therapeutic work aligns with ethical standards, state regulations, and evidence-based practices in addiction and mental health care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Services
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and ongoing clinical documentation.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling using trauma-informed and evidence-based modalities.
- Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and mental health stabilization.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, communication, and life skills.
- Manage crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and coordination with emergency services when needed.
Case Management & Coordination
Collaborate with case managers, house managers, peer support staff, and external providers (detox, PHP / IOP programs, medical professionals, therapists, etc.)Support residents in accessing community resources, such as psychiatric care, support groups, or specialty treatment programs.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and quality-assurance activities.Program Support
Uphold and model the facility’s mission, values, and standards of a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented community.Assist with resident onboarding, orientation, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with licensing requirements, HIPAA, and organizational policies.Qualifications Required
Active and unrestricted license : LMHC , LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, or LADAC (state-specific licensing accepted).Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related behavioral health field.Experience working in addiction treatment, mental health, or a structured recovery environment.Strong knowledge of co-occurring disorders, harm-reduction principles, and relapse-prevention strategies.Ability to handle crisis situations professionally, calmly, and ethically.Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Preferred
Experience in sober living, residential treatment, IOP / PHP, or community mental health.Training or certification in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing (MI), CBT, DBT, EMDR, or other specialized modalities.Familiarity with 12-Step programs, SMART Recovery, and other peer-support models.Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish)Work Environment & Schedule
On-site at a sober living residence.Full time / Part time (Monday-Friday and / or Saturday-Sunday) with flexible scheduling (adjustable start / end times)Regular collaboration with clinical and non-clinical staff.Must maintain professional boundaries and adhere to all facility policies.Physical & Other Requirements
