Senior Financial Systems Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the architecture of the organization's financial reporting systems, primarily within SAP Analytics and Workday Adaptive Planning, while supporting ongoing processes within the ERP environment. This role is ideal for a self starter who thrives on problem solving, automation, and improving financial system capabilities. The analyst will partner closely with the Finance, FP&A, and Financial Systems teams to streamline workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, and maximize system efficiency.

Responsibilities

SAP Analytics & Reporting

• Develop, enhance, and maintain system generated financial reports within SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), ensuring accuracy, scalability, and usability for business stakeholders.
• Build dashboards, data models, and visualizations aligned with Finance and leadership reporting needs.
• Troubleshoot SAP Analytics reporting issues, performance problems, and data inconsistencies.

Financial Close Support

• Perform month end, period end, quarter end, and year end closing tasks within SAP Analytics Cloud / Adaptive Planning to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Create, refine, and execute financial queries and reports in collaboration with the Financial Systems department.

Workday Adaptive Planning

• Support quarterly and annual budgeting cycles by configuring and maintaining Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Administrative responsibilities include :

Developing data entry sheets, reports, and calculation formulas

User security and role maintenance

Managing structures, hierarchies, and data alignment across systems

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Leverage VBA, SQL, SAP Analytics features, and other technologies to automate manual tasks and introduce new efficiencies.
• Evaluate and implement system upgrades, new features, and integrations across SAP Analytics, Workday Adaptive Planning, and ERP systems.
• Act as a solution oriented partner who proactively identifies process gaps and proposes enhancements without waiting for direction.

Documentation

• Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, workflows, and reporting methodologies.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Systems Analysis
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA)
• Financial literacy with a solid understanding of GL, income statement, balance sheet, and accounting concepts
• Self starter mindset with proven ability to take initiative, troubleshoot independently, and drive projects forward

Preferred

• Hands on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) experience-reporting, modeling, dashboards, integrations
• Experience administering or implementing Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar systems : Hyperion, Anaplan, Host Analytics, Infor, etc.)
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or SAP Cloud Analytics-connected environments
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling systems
• Experience developing SQL queries across platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, Access, etc.)
