Job Title: Part-Time 1st Shift OperatorJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Part-time 1st Shift Operator to join our team. This position offers opportunities for increased hours and the potential to transition to a full-time role, depending on performance. Flexibility in working days is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Operate controls and manage weighing or scaling bags of feed.
• Work off a conveyor and efficiently receive orders.
• Fill out necessary paperwork accurately.
• Operate a bagging machine to load and pack bags of feed.
• Set up pallets and operate a sit-down forklift.
• Lift 50 lb. bags of feed throughout the day.
• Perform basic math for inventory and delivery documentation.
• Assist with janitorial duties as needed and maintain cleanliness.
• Pull or store inventory to the appropriate locations.

Essential Skills

• General labor experience.
• Production and farm hand skills.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Order processing and documentation writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in production, machine operating, forklift, or construction.
• Experience working on a farm or feed mill is ideal.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and comfortable with heights.

Work Environment

Our facility specializes in producing various types of farm animal feed with a close-knit team of 13 individuals. The environment is non-climate controlled, so it can get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's an organized yet dusty environment, ideal for those who don't mind getting a little dirty. The 1st shift hours are Wednesday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm, with opportunities for 10-20 hours of overtime weekly. The dress code allows for shorts during summer, but steel-toed boots are mandatory.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
