A Maintenance Assistant - Nights supports facility upkeep by performing cleaning, minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry), greasing, oiling of equipment, and general upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring safety and operational readiness. Key duties involve completing work orders, performing routine inspections, assisting senior staff, reporting hazards, requiring skills with tools and adherence to safety.
Night Shift Hours : Monday through Friday from 7 : 00PM - 3 : 30AM
Pay rate : $27.42 plus $1.50 night shift premium
A Taste of the Job :
- General Maintenance & Cleaning : Sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning common areas (equipment spaces and shop areas).
- Minor Repairs : Fixing leaky faucets, unclogging drains, replacing light bulbs / fixtures, repairing minor equipment damage, basic mechanical skills.
- Inspections & Reporting : Conducting routine checks for hazards, identifying repair needs, maintenance security rounds.
- Equipment & Inventory : Maintaining equipment in working order, working with senior staff and maintenance coordinator assisting in parts room inventory organization.
- Support & Assistance : Helping senior technicians with complex tasks, assisting with set-ups and changeovers.
- Safety Compliance : Following all health, food safety, safety, and security procedures to maintain a safe environment.
Path for Success :
High school diploma or GED.Ability to lift heavy objects and use hand / power tools safely.Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems (or willingness to learn).Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.Can work full-time.May involve weekend / holiday availability for emergencies.Works in diverse settings : manufacturing and warehouse.Benefits and Perks :
