Setup Technician Newaygo MI

Salary Range : $47000 - $72000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Newaygo seeking Setup Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform machine setup and changeovers according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Install adjust and calibrate tooling dies and fixtures for manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and verify part quality to ensure production readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Interpret and apply blueprints schematics and work instructions for accurate machine configuration.
  • Execute minor preventative maintenance tasks on equipment during changeovers.
  • Document setup parameters and process adjustments for record-keeping and continuous improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in setting up adjusting and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers micrometers gauges) and understanding of quality control processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical pneumatic and / or hydraulic systems.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD).
  • PLC programming or diagnostic experience.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating overhead cranes.
