We are partnered with a global client in the manufacturing industry that is seeking to add an Environmental & Safety Manager to their team in Franklin, WI. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and for driving a strong safety culture within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, etc.).
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop preventive measures to reduce workplace injuries and environmental risks.
- Manage and maintain all environmental permits, records, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with plant management and employees to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee hazardous waste management, air and water quality compliance, and emergency response programs.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in an EHS or Safety Management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment—electrical manufacturing experience a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental/safety regulations.
- Demonstrated success implementing safety programs and reducing incident rates.
- Strong communication, leadership, and training skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.
