Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

• Openings in Elementary, Middle, and High School.
• Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location.
• Contract through the school year - 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
• Contract follows the academic district calendar.

• Up to $2,840/Week DOE and location.

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, Speech Audiology, Communications Disorders, or similar program.
• National and state certifications: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, State Speech Language.
• Pathologist Certificate, and State License from the Department of Health Services.
• Positive, energetic, and compassionate approach to education.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting a plus.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

• Identify students needing specialized speech or language services, instruction, curriculum, activities, and classes, and support them with solutions that enable them to thrive in a learning environment and achieve academic goals.
• Facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities using curriculum-based materials and content, and provide progress reports and documentation as needed.
• Supervise support staff as needed and consult with fellow educators regarding accommodations, needs, instructional strategies, necessary equipment, and support.
• Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders.
• Create a classroom and learning environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best. Then celebrate them!
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
• Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each student’s learning style and abilities.
• Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals.
• Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
