Work will be performed at customer sites throughout the assigned region, with the potential for travel outside the region for extended assignments.

Role Summary

As an Entry-Level Relay Test Technician, you will support the testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protective relays and control systems within electrical substations. Guided by seasoned technicians, you will gain knowledge in industry-standard testing practices, relay logic, and protection scheme fundamentals. This role is perfect for individuals starting their career in power systems and looking to expand their technical expertise.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Ability to read and comprehend one line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC / DC schematics, and control drawings.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical theory, phasing, polarity, and basic logic gates.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting control circuits and assisting with functional tests.
• Familiarity with relay test software (e.g., Doble ProTest, Protection Suite) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices.
• A desire to collaborate, take direction, and grow technical skills over time.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as necessary.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Compensation Range : $30-$35 per hour. Final compensation will be based on your skills and qualifications. Asplundh reserves the right to adjust this pay range.
