HeronAI (MIT / FinTech, SaaS) empowers mid-sized firms to streamline strategic growth and month-end advisory reporting. Using proprietary algorithms to help mid-sized companies connect all their disparate data into one place, analyze it, create visual dashboards, and action plans to drive strategic decision-making. Our goal is to help reduce analysis and reporting time from 4-12 weeks to under 5 minutes

Our goal not to be just a tool, but to reshape how data drives decisions for over 10 million people in the next 10 years.

Using Python Django, React, and AWS infrastructure, our current app is already transforming how customers experience data analytics. But were just getting started. As a Backend Developer , youll play a key role in scaling our platform, improving its stability, and ensuring every customer interaction is seamless and intuitive.

What Youll Do

• Build and maintain backend systems for our ETL processes , enabling seamless data integration from tools like Excel and QuickBooks.
• Enhance the scalability, security, and reliability of our Python Flask backend , with plans to upgrade to Django.
• Optimize APIs and database queries to deliver near-instant performance , even with large data volumes.
• Collaborate with the frontend and DevOps teams to deliver features that support our customer-first methodology .
• Address codebase choke points to shorten sales cycles and improve system performance.
• Contribute to SOC 2 compliance efforts by ensuring the backend adheres to security best practices.
• Build, optimize, and maintain APIs and backend systems to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Implement secure data handling practices to align with SOC 2 compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless data flow and performance.
• Continuously improve database performance (e.g., Postgres ), ensuring efficient handling of large datasets.
• Develop robust backend testing strategies to maintain platform stability during rapid scaling.
