The 1 : 1 YTC will provide direct support and care for a client with a complex seizure disorder, daily seizures, and gastrostomy tube (G-tube) feeds. This position involves close collaboration with the school nurse, teachers, and other staff to ensure the client’s safety and well-being throughout the school day.

Essential Job Functions

Medical Support :

• Monitor the client for signs and symptoms of seizure activity.
• Follow seizure action plan, including administering emergency interventions (ex : rescue medication through nasal route or G-tube) as directed by the school nurse and healthcare plan.
• Administer G-tube feedings per physician orders and nursing delegation.
• Maintain a clean and safe feeding environment by adhering to proper hygiene practices.
