Physician – Orthopedic Surgeon (Hand)
Location : Bend, Oregon
At St. Charles Health System, our Orthopedics, Neurosurgery & Physiatry Service Line provides comprehensive musculoskeletal care across Central Oregon. We are seeking a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our growing team in Bend and Redmond. Modern Facilities : Operate at St. Charles Bend and Redmond hospitals, as well as Cascade SurgiCenter and Bend Surgery Center, equipped with advanced surgical technology and imaging capabilities.
Your Schedule
- Approximately 32 patient-facing hours per week for a 1.0 FTE (pro-rated for other FTE levels)
- Mix of hospital rounding, procedure block time, and scheduled clinic visits
- Participation in orthopedic hand call rotation (elbow to fingertips coverage)
- May participate in orthopedic trauma call if qualified
- Primary practice locations in Bend and Redmond, with some outreach clinic work possible
What You’ll Do
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions, emphasizing upper extremity and hand pathologyPerform elective and emergent surgical procedures, as well as non-operative and conservative managementOrder and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studiesDevelop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plansProvide patient and family education related to surgical and non-surgical careDocument all care accurately and timely within the Epic EMR systemCollaborate with other providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality care across the continuumParticipate in departmental and health system meetings, policy development, and quality improvement initiativesWhat You’ll Bring
MD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery ResidencyFellowship training in Hand Surgery strongly preferredBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (board certification required within 7 years of residency completion)Current or eligible Oregon medical licenseCurrent ATLS certificationUnrestricted DEA registration and eligibility for participation in federal and state health programsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to patient carePreferred Qualifications
Experience in both hospital and outpatient orthopedic practice environmentsStrong interest in program development and team-based care modelsProficiency with Epic EMR and basic Microsoft Office applicationsWhy St. Charles?
