A Day in the Life
You start by reviewing operator schedules, aligning weekend coverage, and loading the day’s plan. In SAP and Microsoft Access, you release milling orders, check materials, and assemble ticket packages. On the floor, you lead the team—balancing workloads, tracking TQL targets from the Paint Plant Manager, and removing roadblocks to keep Safety, Quality, and Efficiency front and center.
As batches run, you monitor visual process controls, audit adherence to SOPs, and keep housekeeping and calibration on point. Off-quality? You call it, contain it, and drive corrective action per NPAA procedures. You coordinate inventory cycle counts, parts and supply needs, and basic maintenance to prevent downtime. Along the way, you coach operators, deliver training, and run safety and communication meetings. Between runs, you partner across departments to refine workflows and update processes. You’re accountable for the job floor—owning performance reviews and leading departmental initiatives that move the plant forward.
