Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Hawthorne, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in payroll management while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities :

• Accurately input, update, and process employee data in the payroll system, including hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensure payroll deductions for benefits, taxes, and other contributions are properly calculated and processed.
• Reconcile payroll transactions to the general ledger to maintain accurate financial records.
• Address payroll discrepancies by issuing replacement checks or correcting direct deposits when necessary.
• Manage and process federal and state payroll tax deposits in compliance with regulations.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws to maintain payroll compliance.
• Generate detailed reports on payroll data and present insights to management as needed.
• Perform additional payroll-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive payroll experience, preferably using ADP Workforce Now.
• Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in formulas such as Pivot Tables, V-lookup, and X-lookup.
• Prior experience in payroll management within the automotive dealership industry is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
• A proactive and efficient approach, with a commitment to delivering results.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to payroll software systems.
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and its functionalities is an advantage.
